Monschau
Monschau is one of the most beautiful villages in Europe. The town is small, romantic, and your perfect start to explore the Eifel region. Trier
Trier is the oldest city in Germany. The Romans founded it in the first century Before Christ, and some of its Roman architecture is still standing! The best activities include sightseeing the Roman architecture (Porta Nigra, Amphitheater, and Roman Bridge). Next to that, Trier has a bustling city center with a charming market square. Finish your day off with some shopping and a boat tour on the meandering Mosel River.
Burg Eltz
Although unknown, Burg Eltz can compete to be Europe’s most beautiful castle. The castle was first built in the 12th century, and a branch of the Eltz family still owns it today! National Park Eifel
The National Park Eifel lies in the heart of the Eifel Region and is the perfect getaway for adventure-seekers. First drive to Vogelsang, a former Nazi training center. It was totally transformed and now you can learn everything about its dark history, but also about the beautiful forests it surrounds itself with. Afterward, go on a hike, or bike ride around the park and absorb the magical views!
Cochem
Nestled on the Mosel River, this touristy town is worth checking out when visiting the Eifel. Walk up to the overlooking castle, or wander around the romantic streets full of timbered houses. Burg Eltz is also just a 30-minute drive away from Cochem, so it is smart to combine the two on your road trip!
